  • April 5, 2022

Having covered the best places to travel in India first, we then went on to cover each of the four corners of the country in more detail. We already went into detail about the west, south, and east, and now, we will look at some of the best places to visit in north India!

Agra

Agra is, of course, famous for the Taj Mahal. Thousands of people from all over the world flock to the structure built on the banks of the Yamuna in the name of love. Aside from that, there’s the Red Fort - a huge red sandstone structure which served as the main residence of the Mughal Dynasty.

Agra city also has many vantage points to get a spectacular view of the Taj, such as the Mehtab Bagh – a natural paradise

Delhi

The capital city of India has considerable history. But aside from the capital, it has some truly incredible sights to visit, such as the Qutab Minar, Jantar Mantar, and lovely mausoleums.

The happening Chandni Chowk markets take back to Delhi of old, which includes the appetizing north Indian cuisine. Also, it has one of the largest mosques in India - the Jama Masjid. There are also intricately landscaped gardens everywhere.

Corbett National Park

Picture yourself seated in your vehicle as you capture the perfect snap of the beautiful stripped beast that is the tiger. The Corbett National Park lets you choose your transportation, which includes elephant safari, jeep safari, and canter safari.

You can have just as much fun, albeit a lot more calmly, at some of the wildlife resorts here. It’s not just incredible wild animals that are worth seeing but some amazing and unique flora and fauna as well.

Kullu and Manali

During the summer, Manali is heaven personified. The lush forest covers the landscape and beautiful flowers dot the hiking trails. The Beas River takes on a life of its own and adrenaline junkies can enjoy some rafting action.

It’s perfect as a backpacking destination with copious hostels to check in. The charm of the hill station is enhanced in the season of snow, making it among the top winter vacation destinations in India.

During winter, Manali is one of the most incredible ski destinations. Covered with a blanket of snow, you will be able to enjoy the thrills of skiing.

Jodhpur

Jodhpur, in Rajasthan, has two names - the Blue City, and the Sun City. The former is apt due to the city’s blue shade.

Here, you can take in the sight of the 15th century Mehrangarh Fort overlooking the city and the legendary Thar Desert. Inside the fort is a museum containing ancient artefacts.

You can also spend hours wandering around the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park and soak in the history as you admire the Toorji ka Jhalra, which was built in 1740. Also, visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace and take a slow walk through the narrow lanes that wind around the blue buildings.

As you can see, there’s a lot to see and do in the north but if you’re going through a cash crunch and asking yourself, “Why are there no tourist places near me?” then don’t worry.
